Good day.
I recently purchased several boxes of your jazz tenor sax reeds with the specific intent of aging the reeds for a couple decades prior to playing them. When the reeds arrived, I discovered that you have the new fresh-from-the-factory sealed plastic wrapper. That made me wonder, ‘which is better, an aged reed or a factory-fresh one?’ So, that is my question to you, which is better?
Would the reed be even better if I unwrapped it and aged it for 30 or so years? Are there other reeds of yours that are better suited for aging?
Thank you for your time and help.
Sincerely,
Jim Cooley.
I love how they jam out instead of keeping it a short, TV, sound clip like would be the case now.
I uploaded a bunch of great oldies. There’s some Saratoga Springs High School Jazz Band video from 1998 and 1999. There is James Cooley Quintet, JCQ, vids. The entire Nov. 2, 2002 USCGA Leamy Hall Chicos’ Groove gig is uploaded in its performed order. As Sean Plankey put it, ‘It’ll be the best concert you’ll ever see in your life.’ That was a hell of a time.
Ah, nostalgia…
I’m excited to announce one of my favorite site updates - new music. Under Bandwagon’s mp3 player is ‘Straight Teeth Straight Lace’ written specifically for Erin’s birthday. ’Tis Erin’s gift. The song is lyrically inspired by her and her friends and musically tailored towards Erin’s tastes.
Under the Video tab, duh. ’Twas my sort of audition for my main man Chris to adjudicate for prospective recording sesh’s. The video’s lame, but that’s not what’s important.
I use two monitors. I’m trying to record a bass part for Mare’s Nest’s new song The Temple to re-amp for live shows. In order to do that, I’m having to relearn a bass part, or two, or twelve. On the separate monitors, this is what I had in front of me at one point. It was too much rock for me to deal with, so I made some tea to settle down. ![]()

Bandwagoneers mp3 player. As always, feel free to go to the Bandwagoneers soundclick site and download the mp3’s for free. Free, notable, because I could charge! That would be lame though.
The six new tracks are segments from neighbor-Nop’s last jam with Mare’s-Matt and I. Nathan could not make this one. This was fun.
THE END! is as Matt put it, ‘one last E for Nop.’
After Steel Train, I accidently went to the Tap House in Ybor and these guys were playing - Ebu Gogo. Holy smokes. Not only could I listen to them all day everyday, they rocked, they’re proficient, and this video RULES!
